Gazans throw rocks, burn tires in fresh border clashes

Some 1,000 Palestinians are taking part in clashes on the Gaza border, the army says, with demonstrators burning tires and throwing rocks at troops.

The IDF says soldiers are using riot dispersal means to quell the protests and using live fire in accordance with army regulations.

There were no immediate reports of injuries from Gaza.

This week’s clashes, the first since the violent “March of Return” protests reached their peak Monday, were much smaller than past weeks and come amid a heatwave and at the start of the Muslim fast of Ramadan.
