The IDF confirms that its forces conducted a daytime raid in Ramallah’s city center today, hours after videos circulated on social media showing Israeli troops and military vehicles moving through the city, which serves as the seat of the Palestinian Authority.
According to the military, soldiers from the Binyamin Regional Brigade, along with Duvdevan commando unit fighters and Border Police forces, stormed a currency exchange office accused of transferring funds to Hamas operatives to finance terror activity. The operation was carried out with intelligence guidance from Central Command and the Shin Bet.
During the raid, five suspects allegedly involved in terror activity were arrested, and hundreds of thousands of shekels identified as terror funds were confiscated, the IDF says.
Arab media reports several civilian casualties during the raid.
The military adds that the operation is part of its broader campaign across the West Bank to dismantle the financial networks of terror groups.
