Speaking in Kyiv alongside his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar says that Israel “condemns Russian strikes against civilians.”

He calls for a “durable and lasting peace that ensures security for Ukraine.”

“Israel and Ukraine share a special bond,” Sa’ar continues at a joint press conference. “Both our nations face difficult and challenging times. We both face war and pain. We are both resilient nations.”

Sa’ar says he is in the country “to show our solidarity and support for Ukraine and the people of Ukraine.”

Before the press conference, Sa’ar presented Sybiha with the Dinah Project report on sexual violence perpetrated by Palestinian terrorists on October 7.

Sa’ar also lays a wreath at the memorial wall for fallen Ukrainian soldiers, and visits the monument to the victims of the Holodomor genocide.
