Israel still discussing ceasefire proposal
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleA new 72-hour ceasefire in Gaza has been agreed upon, following mediation by Egypt, a Palestinian official says, although there is no immediate confirmation from Israel.
The official tells AFP that Egypt had received “simultaneous consensus” from both sides and would officially announce the timing for the start of the ceasefire.
In Israel, an official says the Egyptian truce proposal is still being debated.
“They are discussing it now,” he announces.
