Israel’s blood supplies are insufficient, according to an announcement today from Magen David Adom blood services and Israel’s Health Ministry. MDA says it faces difficulties meeting the demand for blood to treat the injured and ill in the country’s hospitals.
Historically, fewer citizens donate blood over the Passover holiday. However, this year blood and blood products are needed more than ever. A donation of one unit of blood can be used for transfusions that save the lives of three people.
Information about where and when to donate blood is available by calling MDA blood services at 03-5300400, or by visiting www.mdais.org/blood-donation.
