Police: 24 suspects arrested after mass scuffle in Rahat, two officers hit by stones

Police say officers arrested 24 people on suspicion of taking part in a “mass violent scuffle between different factions” in the southern Bedouin town of Rahat today.

Two officers were hurt when forces dispatched to quash the violence were pelted with stones, according to police.

The 24 suspects were detained in raids on several housing complexes in Rahat, and they hail from “all the families that were involved in the incident,” police say, adding that the suspects have been transferred to the Rahat police station for investigation.
