Proposal to allow 22,000 more Palestinians to work in Israel
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe Finance Ministry and the Housing and Construction Ministry will ask the government to approve increasing the number of Palestinian workers allowed into Israel by 22,000.
The Finance Ministry says the proposal has been coordinated with the Defense Ministry.
Most of the permits will be for the construction sector, with agriculture and industry also getting more permits.
The decision is part of the government’s commitment to “improving economic and security relations” with the Palestinians, the statement says.
