Senior Israeli and UAE officials reportedly held meetings in 3rd country to coordinate positions on Iran

Senior Israeli and UAE officials have held several meetings in recent weeks in a third country to coordinate positions on Iran, Channel 12 reports.

The UAE made clear its opposition to the maintenance of the MOU — which it believes enables Iran to advance financially and militarily while playing for time and conceding nothing substantive, the report says.

The officials also reportedly discussed possible diplomatic initiatives to advance against Iran in international forums, but agreed to pursue this course only in coordination with the United States.

Unlike other Gulf states, the UAE recognizes that Iran must be faced down, the report quotes an Arab diplomat saying.
