‘We will kill Trump’ banners seen at Khamenei funeral; Iranian president, FM attacked as not hardline enough

Banners calling for the assassination of US President Donald Trump continue to be widely displayed during the funeral of Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei.

A large sign saying “We will kill Trump” is carried by funeral-goers in Mashhad, where Khamenei will be buried today after processions that began six days ago.

Another banner with the same message was hung overnight from a hotel building in Mashhad.

Mourners in Tehran carried a banner saying the same on Monday.

Also on Monday, members of the public heckled, insulted and physically attacked Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, casting them as insufficiently hardline.
