A man was killed after two cars collided near Kibbutz Bror Hayil in southern Israel on Thursday, medics said, in the third fatality of the day on the roads.

Paramedics found the 35-year-old man trapped in the vehicle with multiple critical injuries and were forced to pronounce his death at the scene, the Magen David Adom ambulance service said in a statement Thursday.

Emergency workers also treated a man and a woman in their 20s for moderate injuries in a separate vehicle, then took them to Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon, MDA said.

Police said they opened an investigation into the collision.

Earlier in the evening, a 35-year-old foreign worker was killed after his bicycle was hit by a car in the southern town of Netivot, MDA said.

On Thursday afternoon, an 80-year-old man was killed after he was hit by a car in Jerusalem.

According to the latest data from the National Road Safety Authority, 167 people have been killed on Israel’s roads since the beginning of 2023.
