Out of control taxi smashes into Tel Aviv restaurant, injuring 5

A taxi driver lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a restaurant in Tel Aviv on Saturday night, injuring five.

The taxi plowed through the window of the BBB restaurant on Yigal Alon street in the central part of the city.

The driver and four restaurant patrons were lightly injured and rushed to Tel Aviv’s Ichilov medical center.

A Magen David Adom emergency services worker at the scene said, “When we got there we saw a taxi inside a shattered, broken restaurant.”

“The vehicle was crushed and the restaurant was upside down and it was a miracle the incident ended in only minor injuries.”

The driver was a man in his 60s and the injuries consisted of lacerations and other minor wounds.

In a separate incident on Saturday night, a Palestinian man in his 20s was killed in a collision between two vehicles on Route 90, near Jerusalem. Another man was seriously wounded in the crash, and a third injured lightly, MDA said.

A 17-year-old was severely injured in a third accident when his vehicle rolled over near the northern city of Nahariya.
