Young boy critically injured, 9 others hurt, in collision near Dead Sea

A four-year-old boy was critically injured and nine others were hurt when two cars collided on the main road near the Dead Sea on Friday, Magen David Adom said.
Firefighters had to pull out five victims who were trapped in the wreckage, and three helicopters flew the injured to the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba.
The accident occurred on Route 90 near the Leonardo Plaza Hotel.
“This was a very serious head-on collision,” said one of the paramedics at the scene, who said one of the vehicles was on its side against the guard rail.
“It looks as though the force of the collision caused one of the cars to roll onto the shoulder, on the other side of the guard rail,” he said.
According to the ambulance service the young boy was found unconscious with serious head trauma and was rushed to the hospital sedated and on artificial respiration.
Two of those injured, a man and woman in their 30s, were in moderate condition. The other victims were all conscious.
