Celebrity chef Haim Cohen has once again used his food talents to direct Israelis’ attentions to some of the country’s pressing issues.

The Master Chef judge was seen this summer cooking a pizza in the backseat of a car, as a reminder to drivers not to leave children in the car during the brutally hot summer months.

Now he’s reminding Israelis to help feed the country’s impoverished citizens during the upcoming holiday season in a televised campaign by Latet, a non-profit that works to reduce poverty in Israel.

In the ad, Cohen shakes his head at the impossibility of making a meal out of a few measly ingredients, as the announcer states that even the best chef in Israel can’t meet that challenge.

The campaign was part of a larger holiday season Latet program that included the stars of Master Chef, who cooked a Rosh Hashanah meal in order to help raise awareness about families in need and raise money for the Latet food campaign.

According to Amanda Kuperman, a spokesperson for Latet, the campaign led to 200,000 holiday meal donations worth NIS 12 million ($3.1 million), and 194,000 products donated in a food drive run with the Shufersal supermarket chain.

The meals were distributed among poverty-stricken families with the help of 180 different non-profit organizations throughout the country.
