President Isaac Herzog visits Kibbutz Be’eri, one of the hardest-hit Israeli border communities in the murderous Hamas assault on Israel.
The president helps residents restart a printing press at the site as residents vow to rebuild their shattered lives.
He also tours the shattered and bloodstained buildings and homes where so many residents were murdered by terrorists.
“This land is soaked in blood. There was life here. This was a paradise that was turned into hell,” says Herzog. “From here, we say to the entire world: Nothing will break us.”
“We have a moral and national obligation to make Be’eri a paradise again,” he says.
The print shop, the oldest in Israel, will return to work tomorrow.
“Out of our grief, the tears, the terrible pain and the darkness in which this community finds itself, and all the surrounding communities, from here we say to the whole world: Nothing will break us.”
