IDF says Gaza strike destroyed office of Hamas interior minister
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe Israeli military says its fighter jets destroyed the office of Tawfik Abu Naim, Hamas’s interior minister, in the Nuseirat refugee camp of central Gaza.
Abu Naim was imprisoned in Israel in 1991 and was let out in a contentious 2011 prisoner exchange, in which over 1,000 convicted terrorists were freed to secure the release of captured IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.
The IDF says Abu Naim is also responsible for Hamas’s security forces and has “used them to carry out military terrorist activities.”
