In rare criticism, US pro-Israel lobby opposes Netanyahu entry ban on lawmakers
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleInfluential US pro-Israel lobby AIPAC opposes Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to bar two Muslim US members of Congress from visiting the Jewish state.
“We disagree with Reps. Omar and Tlaib’s support for the anti-Israel and anti-peace BDS movement, along with Rep. Tlaib’s calls for a one-state solution,” the American Israel Public Affairs Committee tweets, referring to House Democrats Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, who support a boycott of Israel.
“We also believe every member of Congress should be able to visit and experience our democratic ally Israel firsthand,” the group adds.
