Israel to stop Gaza fuel imports after rocket onslaught

Israel will not allow diesel fuel and gasoline to enter the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom crossing tomorrow as terror groups in the coastal enclave continue to fire rockets and mortar shells at Israel, the military liaison to the Palestinians says.

“Following security deliberations held today [Sunday], the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories Maj. Gen. Kamil Abu Rukun has announced that all fuel imports into the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom Humanitarian Crossing will cease,” his office says in a statement.

Despite the closure of Kerem Shalom, Israel had allowed diesel fuel and gasoline into the beleaguered coastal enclave on Sunday.
