Israel won’t be able to create Golan security zone: Syria

Israel’s attempts to build a security zone on the Golan Heights will fail because “of popular resistance in the area, just as it failed in Lebanon thanks to Hezbollah,” says Syria Foreign Minister Walid Muallem, the Ynet news site reports.

Muallem makes his comments to the Arabic-language Iranian channel Al-Alam.

“Hezbollah’s cooperation in the fight against terrorism in Syria is one of the organization’s smartest decisions,” adds Muallem.
