Lapid says anyone who seeks to harm PM ‘must face full severity of the law’

Opposition Leader Yair Lapid issues a firm condemnation following news that a woman from central Israel had conspired to assassinate Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“I strongly condemn the attempt to harm Prime Minister Netanyahu,” Lapid says in a statement. “Anyone who has attempted to harm or seeks to harm [the prime minister] must face the full severity of the law.”
His remarks come after police revealed that a woman in her 70s, described as a known anti-government activist, was arrested two weeks ago after she conspired to assassinate the prime minister.
