Minister bans Brothers in Arms and other groups that encourage avoiding military service from schools

The Brothers in Arms anti-government protest group and “all organizations that encouraged refusal” to serve the military will not be allowed to enter Israeli schools, Education Minister Yoav Kisch announces.
In a tweet, the Likud politician says that Brothers in Arms, which encouraged reservists to refuse volunteer duty during the 2023 judicial overhaul protests, had “harmed the security of the state” and that “such entities will not enter schools, period.”
“No enlistment refusal in our schools,” he writes, denying having known in advance about a recent case in which the organization was invited to a school.
In response, Omri Ronen, one of the group’s founders, notes on X that Kisch is part of a government supported by ultra-Orthodox parties that actively support draft dodging by members of the Haredi community.
