MKs okay putting Knesset House Committee in charge of discussions of bill making Torah study a foundational state value

Lawmakers vote 48-35 to approve the Knesset House Committee’s decision to take over discussions of a proposed quasi-constitutional Basic Law: Torah Study from the Constitution, Law and Justice Committee.
Following a request from Constitution Committee chairman Simcha Rothman (Religious Zionism), the Knesset House Committee voted this morning to transfer the deliberations on the controversial bill declaring Torah study a foundational value of the State of Israel.
