Released hostage Nimrod Cohen discharged from hospital, returns home to Rehovot

Released hostage soldier Nimrod Cohen has been discharged from Ichilov Hospital, days after his release from Hamas captivity on Monday.

He is greeted with cheers and applause as he arrives in his hometown of Rehovot for the first time in two years, waving an Israeli flag out the window of the car as it drives slowly through the crowds.

Ahead of his return, the Rehovot Municipality encouraged residents to line the route to his home and “greet him with hugs, love, and Israeli flags.”

The municipality says it has replaced the old banners it had put up calling for Cohen’s release with new ones reading “Nimrod, it’s so good that you’ve come home.”
