Trump clarifies US won’t ‘go in and kill’ Hamas operatives in Gaza as suggested earlier, but may back others to do so
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleUS President Donald Trump clarifies that the US is not planning to directly intervene in Gaza, after he said earlier that “if Hamas continues to kill people in Gaza… we will have no choice but to go in and kill them.”
In response to a question from a reporter, Trump says that although “somebody will go in” to Gaza, “it’s not going to be us.”
“We won’t have to” enter Gaza, says the US president. “There are people very nearby that will go in, they’ll do the trick very easily, but under our auspices.”
