MK Zevulun Orlev of the right-wing Jewish Home party was lightly injured in a car accident in Jerusalem on Sunday night.

Orlev, driving his vehicle back from Gush Etzion, was hit by a vehicle that ran a red light in the Gilo neighborhood of southern Jerusalem.

Orlev sustained minor injuries and was briefly hospitalized following the incident.

In a posting on his Facebook page he called it “a great miracle” that he escaped without serious injuries, saying that the combination of seat belt and inflatable air bag prevented a “fatal blow.”

He said he expected to be back at work on Monday.
