A 35-year-old Afula resident was arrested overnight Friday on suspicion that she ran a chain of brothels in the city.

The suspect was scheduled to appear in Nazareth Magistrate’s Court on Saturday, where police were expected to ask that her remand be extended.

The arrest was part of a joint operation between local police and Border Police forces. Two underground gambling venues in the area were also exposed, with 10 people detained for questioning.
