A kindergarten in central Israel was vandalized early Sunday, with equipment smashed and a swastika daubed on its wall along with hate messages.
Police said they opened an investigation and were searching for suspects after unknown burglars broke into a special education kindergarten on Kehilat Canada street in southern Jaffa during the night.
When staff arrived in the morning, they discovered “significant damage,” according to police, with furniture and equipment used by the children found broken.
A swastika was drawn on the wall, alongside a message in Hebrew reading “Death to Jews.”
Another similar incident of vandalism occurred on Saturday evening, when the campaign headquarters of Tel Aviv mayoral candidate Asaf Zamir was vandalized with swastikas.

Photos of Zamir’s office on Ibn Gvirol street showed the Nazi symbol scrawled in red paint on the windows and campaign posters defaced.
Police said in a statement that officers were at the scene and that an investigation into the vandalism had been opened.
Zamir’s campaign condemned the incident, linking it to his recent rise in the polls.

“We are sorry to see that as support for Zamir for mayor of Tel Aviv increases, we are exposed to hatred of the most despicable kind,” the campaign said in a statement, according to Hadashot news.
