What they wore for Peres’s party
A look at the fashion choices made for the gala celebration held Tuesday night

It’s been three days of dressing up or down at the 2013 Presidential Conference, but the outfits that really mattered were worn on Tuesday night when thousands gathered to celebrate President Shimon Peres’s 90th birthday.
It’s not often that Israelis opt for something glitzier than jeans and a T-shirt — for ladies, the T-shirt just needs to slip off the shoulder and reveal a tank-top strap — whether dressing for a wedding or dinner out.
But in honor of the prez, guests went all out. With nearly two hours spent milling over cocktails and drinks — just wine and small, very small, hors d’oeuvres — prior to the main event, and after getting through security, there was plenty of time to look around and admire everyone’s duds, whether inspired or not.
Judge for yourselves.
