A jeep parked on the sidewalk outside the vehicle registration bureau in Afula rolled out of control on Monday, injuring two pedestrians, one of them seriously.
A 69-year old women was pinned against a wall by the vehicle, sustaining serious injuries to her chest, head and limbs, Ynet reported. She was treated by paramedics, who were called to the scene, then lost consciousness and was taken to a hospital.
Another women was lightly injured in the incident and was also hospitalized.
Police reported that the driver, 70, who was taken in for questioning, had left the jeep parked while we went in to the office to pay his annual vehicle registration fee, but it rolled down the street out of control, perhaps because the parking brake was not set.
