Two seriously injured in separate road crashes

Two men were seriously injured in separate road accidents early Sunday.
Early in the morning, the Magen David Adom ambulance service received an alert that a car had hit a pole on Jaffa Road in the northern port city of Haifa. The 20-year-old driver was left unconscious and in critical condition with head injuries. He was evacuated to the Rambam Medical Center for treatment.
During the night a 30-year-old man from Nazareth was seriously injured after his car hit a bus on Route 60, near the entrance of Kibbutz Mizra in the Jezreel Valley. Police at the scene were investigating the cause of the accident.
The incidents came less than two weeks after eight people were killed and dozens injured when a truck carrying a tractor collided with a bus on Highway 31 in the south of the country. The victims were all Bedouin women returning from an organized prayer trip to the al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
