Italian operatic pop trio Il Volo will perform in Tel Aviv’s Menora Mivtachim Arena on Saturday night, October 14.

The three singers, Gianluca Ginoble, Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto, perform works by Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, Plácido Domingo and other greats, backed by a 32-member orchestra.

Barone, Boschetto and Ginoble met in 2009 as teens competing in an Italian televised singing competition.

It was the show’s director and creator who had the idea to put them together, creating a trio similar to The Three Tenors — Plácido Domingo, José Carreras and Luciano Pavarotti.

The three describe their music as ‘popera,’ and represented Italy in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.
