After this afternoon’s strike on Hezbollah’s top military commander in Beirut, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir says the military will continue to “remove any threat” to Israel.

“We struck the most senior commander in the Hezbollah terror organization. The strike was intended to prevent the organization’s buildup and to specifically target those who seek to harm the State of Israel,” he says at the IDF’s underground command center during the strike, according to remarks provided by the military.

“The IDF remains committed to the understandings agreed upon between the State of Israel and Lebanon, but we will not allow the Hezbollah terror organization to grow stronger and rearm, and we will act to remove any threat to the citizens of the State of Israel,” he adds.
