Massive strike in South planned for Thursday
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleResidents of southern Israel plan to strike in factories and public authorities from Ashdod to Eilat on Thursday. The Histadrut Labor Union publishes a list of places expected to take part in the strike.
The initiative comes two days after termination letters sent to hundreds of employees at Israel Chemicals Ltd. Enter into effect.
Apart from factories, social and public services like the Israel Postal Service, Eilat Airport, Eilat and Ashdod sea ports, Mekorot and the Israel Electric Company.
Israel Railways, Wizo services and the health and special education systems will not take part in the strike.
