Safed mayor steps down from Yisrael Beytenu
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleSafed Mayor Ilan Schochat, who is No. 4 on the Yisrael Beytenu list, decided to step down from his position as MK.
Schochat expressed doubt in recent days regarding the role, saying he preferred an executive role over a legislative one. He also said he received calls from Safed residents who said he should remain in his position as mayor of the northern city.
Robert Ilatov, No. 7 on Yisrael Beytenu’s list, will enter the Knesset instead of Schochat.
