The daughter of a female senior public figure has filed a police complaint against her parents for sexual abuse.
An extensive gag order has been placed on the case, which, until Thursday, forbade the media from even publishing the existence of the investigation or the order itself.
Police are now allowing for the complaint to be made public, but details regarding the investigation and its suspects are still under wraps.
The order forbids Israeli media from quoting foreign outlets regarding the affair, or reaching out to them.
It also prohibits reporting on details from social networks “or any other media, including implications direct or indirect.”

Hebrew media outlets were reporting, however, that the complainant was recently abroad but has returned to Israel.
Hebrew outlets also reported that in a video posted to social media in recent days, the complainant alleged sexual abuse at the hands of her parents, and stated her intention to file a complaint with police.

Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
