Production on season five of “Fauda,” Israel’s longest-running action series, will start at the end of April.

This latest season of Yes Studios’ action thriller series will be filmed in Israel and overseas, and follows the Fauda team abroad on a private mission.

It will premiere on Yes TV in Israel in early 2026, followed by a worldwide launch on Netflix, where the first four seasons were screened.

Cast and story details are currently being kept under wraps, including the overseas locations. There was no mention in the Yes Studios statement of how the new season will handle the Hamas terrorist attack of October 7, 2023, when over 5,000 terrorists stormed across the border into Israel, murdering 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages, while carrying out other atrocities including rape and torture.

“Fauda,” which means ‘chaos’ in Arabic, follows a team of elite Israeli undercover agents as they work to apprehend terrorists.

With Arabic dialogue and storylines that often mirror news headlines, “Fauda” has long been acknowledged for its fresh portrayal of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

In season 4, the Fauda team, headed by Officer Doron Kavillio, played by co-creator Lior Raz, headed to Belgium for a mission when a terrorist cell raised red flags within the Israeli security services.

This latest season of “Fauda” will be directed by Omri Givon, who helmed season 4, and written by Omri Shenhar (“Tehran,” “Magpie”).

The award-winning show, created by Raz and Avi Issacharoff, based on their real-life experiences, is commemorating its tenth year.

“In February 2015, ‘Fauda’ premiered on Yes TV and in the past ten years we’ve seen this series grow and become a worldwide phenomenon,” said Sharon Levi, managing director of Yes Studios. “We can’t think of a better way to commemorate this anniversary than by bringing Fauda back for another season to be enjoyed by its dedicated fans all over the world.”
