900 Israeli students and faculty stranded abroad after Israeli skies closed

Some 870 Israeli students and faculty members are currently stranded in Poland, unable to return to Israel due to the joint US-Israel military strike on Iran, the Education Ministry says.

An educational group of 16 is also stuck in the United States, and 9 are in Romania, the ministry notes.

The groups are being secured by the Shin Bet, as is generally the case with student trips, the ministry says. There is no indication of any particular risk.

Israel has closed its airspace until at least Monday, the Transportation Ministry said yesterday, making travel through Ben Gurion Airport and other flight hubs impossible. Tens of thousands of Israeli travelers around the world are also unable to return.
