Katz approves Zamir’s latest IDF appointments, including most senior female pilot ever in air force

Defense Minister Israel Katz has approved IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir’s latest list of senior military appointments, his office says.
The list announced by Zamir last night included 18 new brigadier generals and one new colonel, as well as nine brigadier generals who were moved to new positions at the same rank.
Among the notable appointments is Col. “Gimmel” — who can only be identified by her rank and first initial in Hebrew — the current commander of the Ovda Airbase, who will be promoted to brigadier general and become the Israeli Air Force’s next attaché to the US.
Gimmel, 42, will become the most senior female pilot in the Israeli Air Force’s history when she is promoted.
