Man killed in car explosion in central Israel; police investigating

A man has been killed after his vehicle exploded on Route 2 near Or Akiva, in the second apparent car bombing to occur within a day.
The man is pronounced dead by medics hours after a similar explosion rocked the northern city of Afula this morning, killing a man in his 30s.
Police are operating at the scene near the coastal city and have begun investigating the circumstances of the blast.
