Netanyahu’s office says PM, health minister will get COVID vaccine Saturday

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) confirms widespread reports that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Health Minister Yuli Edelstein will become the first in Israel to get a coronavirus vaccine.

In a statement, the PMO says both men will be inoculated Saturday evening at Sheba Medical Center near Tel Aviv, in an event that will be broadcast live.

It says the event is aimed at encouraging the Israeli public to get the vaccine. It adds that Netanyahu will thus become one of the first world leaders to get the vaccine.
