Report: Shin Bet chief denies Eisenkot’s request for armed security detail
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleShin Bet chief David Zini has denied the request to provide an armed security detail for Gadi Eisenkot, the former minister and ex-IDF chief whose Yashar party is leading in most opinion polls ahead of the October 27 election, Channel 12 reports.
Eisenkot is not formally entitled to a state-issued security detail, but Channel 12 previously reported that Zini was weighing his request amid indications that Iran is stepping up efforts to harm Israeli leaders, and as the election season heats up.
The outlet does not elaborate on the reasons behind the reported denial of Eisenkot’s request.
