US-chartered flight for American citizens has departed Mideast — State Department

Jacob Magid is The Times of Israel's US bureau chief

The US chartered a flight for American citizens out of the Middle East earlier today, the State Department says.

This appears to be the first one since the start of the Iran war.

“Additional flights will be surged across the region. American citizens in UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Israel interested in the [State] Department’s charter flight or ground transportation options should complete the Crisis Intake Form or contact the State Department’s 24/7 Task Force at +1-202-501-4444,” the State Department adds in a statement.
