US military denies report that it renewed escorts for ships through Strait of Hormuz
The US Central Command flatly denies a report by The Wall Street Journal that a Navy initiative to help guide ships through the Strait of Hormuz has restarted.
“FALSE,” CENTCOM says in a post on X. “Project Freedom has not resumed, and US forces are not currently escorting commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.”
