Winter heatwave breaks 66-year temperature record, Israel Meteorological Service says

The Israel Meteorological Service says the hottest January temperatures in 65 years have been recorded today.
Amid a winter heatwave — set to be broken abruptly tomorrow with strong winds, low temperatures and heavy rain — the service says 29 degrees Celsius (84° Fahrenheit) were measured at a station in Kibbutz Ein Hahoresh in the Sharon region north of Tel Aviv.
The last time a higher temperature was measured was 31°C (88°F) at Ein Hahoresh on January 15, 1960.
Other stations today in the northern West Bank and Jerusalem mountains have also recorded unusually warm temperatures of around 27°-28°C (80°-82°F).
