Wizz Air says no flights to Israel until at least April 27

Hungarian low-cost airline giant Wizz Air further extends the suspension of flights to and from Israel through April 27, as Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport remains closed to foreign carriers following the recent ceasefire that halted the joint US-Israel military campaign against Iran.

Wizz Air extends flight suspensions from the previously announced date of April 20. Israel’s airspace has been shut to foreign airlines since February 28, when the war with Iran broke out. Following the overnight declaration of a ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran, Israeli regulators and aviation authorities are considering a gradual easing of air traffic restrictions at Ben Gurion Airport.

Wizz Air says it is “committed to the Israeli market and to Israeli customers and continues to closely monitor developments.”

“The flight schedule may be adjusted as the situation evolves,” Wizz Air says in a statement. “The safety and security of the passengers, the crew, and the aircraft remain at the top of the company’s priorities, which is in contact with all the relevant authorities and with the passengers who are affected by the situation.”
