At least one Gazan may have been lightly wounded when an Israeli Navy ship fired toward a fishing boat Monday morning.
The IDF confirmed that it fired at a boat that was seen sailing past the six-mile limit imposed as part of Israel’s blockade of the Hamas-ruled territory, but said it did not know of any hit.
Hamas’s Al-Aqsa television station said one fisherman was injured.
The Palestinian news agency Ma’an quoted a source in Gaza saying he was injured in his hand.
Other reports indicated two people on the fishing boat were injured. There was no official comment from authorities in Gaza.

An IDF spokesperson said the army had no indication the fishing boat was struck.
Soldiers were alerted to a breach of the blockade off the Strip’s northern coast and responded by shooting in the air, causing the ship to turn back, the spokesperson said.
