IDF soldiers fired a number of warning shots toward Palestinians who came close to the Gaza border fence, after they did not heed calls to turn back on Friday.

The military said it was checking Palestinian reports claiming several Gazans were wounded in the incident.

IDF soldiers remain deployed near the fence across from several flashpoints where Palestinians rallied by Hamas routinely protest against Israel, sometimes launching stones at the troops and otherwise trying to damage the fence.

Earlier on Friday, IDF forces arrested a cell of Palestinians who were throwing stones and Molotov cocktails in the area of Kochav Hashachar in the West Bank.

During an operation that began early Friday, soldiers arrested six suspects and confiscated two vehicles in which Molotov cocktails and rocks were found.

Also Thursday overnight, two suspects were arrested in the West Bank.

One man was arrested in El Birah, suspected of terrorist activities and violence against Israeli civilians and security forces, and one man was arrested in Hebron, on suspicion that he was a Hamas operative, the army said.
