An Israeli man was severely injured when he was beaten and stabbed in central Ma’ale Adumim early Friday.
Investigators were looking at the incident as a possible terror attack.
The suspected attacker, a Palestinian said to be in his early 20s, fled the scene. A manhunt was launched for him, including in Palestinian villages near the West Bank settlement, which lies east of Jerusalem.
A knife and an ax were found at the scene, the Israel Hayom daily reported.
The injured man, a security guard in his 40s, was treated by Magen David Adom rescue medics at the scene and taken to Jerusalem’s Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem.
