A man was arrested on Sunday after allegedly trying to run over a police officer in a police station parking lot and then driving off, as cops opened fire at the vehicle.

Police launched a manhunt for a second suspect who was also in the car when it sped away from the Ayarot Police Station near Beersheba.

An officer at the station shot at the tires of the car.

There were no injuries reported in the incident, apparently because an officer stepped out of the car’s way in time.

The motive for the apparent attack was not immediately clear.

Police gave chase after the vehicle, which stopped minutes later. Two men jumped and tried to make their escape on foot. One of the men, apparently the driver, was caught and arrested. The second man evaded the cops and fled.

Police launched a manhunt for the second suspect.
