Cops probe death of mentally disabled women after signs of violence found on her body

Investigation launched as resident of hostel in Beersheba dies after being brought to the hospital in critical condition

Police on Saturday launched an investigation into the death of a woman in the southern city of Beersheba who was hospitalized with signs of violence on her body.

The woman, who is in her 40s, was brought overnight in critical condition to Soroka Medical Center from a hostel for the intellectually disabled.

Doctors at the hospital declared her death in the morning.

The cause of death was not immediately known.

Police announced a special task force would be formed to probe the women’s death and said officers were dispatched to the scene to gather evidence.
