Hamas official: Trump gave Jerusalem to descendants of pigs and apes
Speaking at Nablus rally, Nasouh al-Ramini thanks US president for uniting ‘our people and our nation with your injustice and tyranny’
A Hamas official speaking at a West Bank rally said US President Donald Trump, in recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, had given “Jerusalem to the descendants of pigs and apes.”
Speaking last week at a rally in Nablus, Nasouh al-Ramini compared Trump to ancient Mongol conqueror Hulagu Khan, and said that “by his stupidity and his recklessness (he) will lead the planet to World War III.”
Extremist Islamists, particularly Hamas members, have often referred to Jews as pigs and apes, based on their interpretation of certain Quranic verses.
Ramini, in comments translated Thursday by the Middle East Media Research Institute, went on to “thank” Trump “for your oppressive declaration…You have united our people and our nation with your injustice and tyranny.”

Hamas, which seized control of Gaza in 2007, seeks to destroy Israel. It has been urging a new intifada since Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital on December 6, and has encouraged thousands of Gazans to confront Israeli troops at the Gaza border fence, where there have been several fatalities in recent weeks.
On Friday two Palestinian protesters were reported killed during violent demonstrations along the Gaza border as thousands more took part in riots in the coastal enclave and across the West Bank for the third straight week.
